Yep, we're still alive!

And I will emerge from busy hermit-ness next Monday because this Sunday is the half marathon & 8k that I've been in charge of planning as a fundraiser for Kate's preschool.  It's been just about a full-time (unpaid) job, but I'm hoping all the hard work will pay off this weekend!  We're getting all the last minute details together and now we just need the racers to show up (there's nearly 100 now) and the weather to cooperate (it's supposed to be nice--THANKFULLY!)  The kids have been troopers while being shuttled from place to place as I get things organized and have been (mostly) patient while I've been on endless phone calls.  Ryan and I plan on celebrating on Sunday night!  A HUGE thank you to Grandpa Bobby, Grandma Star, Uncle Jay and Grandpa Mac for coming to help us--we definitely need every bit of it and we're so thankful.  And, so as not to totally neglect the kids on a blog about them, I'll leave you with a kid tidbit: Will said his first "sentence" yesterday!  It was, "Oh goodness, two buses!!" (said with great glee as we passed the elementary school).  Most of his words are vehicle related and his absolute favorite word (said approximately 100 times each day) is: DIRT.  On the other hand, Kate is very much into all things girly, constantly explaining to me that whatever she is doing is being done "because I am a real princess and that's what princesses like to do."  For example, at the park yesterday, she told me, "I hope there are other kids there because princesses LOVE to make new friends."  She also is in love with a fourteen-year-old boy named Chance who watches them from time to time.  She's asked my when he can be her older brother and yesterday claimed, "I'm pretty sure Chance thinks I'm a real princess."  Oh, to be three! :)
